Singin’ along when your life’s a song You sing it everyday Findin’ the key when you’re lost at sea Will get you on your way To that place With a smile on your face It’s good to be in California It’s good to be back home You’ll find them ‘round that coastal town The California Sound.

Telling you lies Don’t ask questions now Don’t be kind to that mind That will not blindly kneel and bow Lookin’ for the truth All depends in the end If you’ll turn away your so-called friends Because they’re telling you lies And you just got fooled again Comin’ from someone you look up to It’s no surprise And I’m losing my cool again They’re telling you lies They’re telling you lies Don’t be so confused It’s alright without sight You’ll never have to really face the truth The bubble keeps you safe Locked inside where you hide You’ll never have to give the facts a try Because they’re telling you lies And you just got fooled again Comin’ from someone you look up to It’s no surprise And I’m losing my cool again They’re telling you lies They’re telling you lies It’s all in your perspective But numbers never lie With some luck someday you’ll wonder why Because they’re telling you lies And you just got fooled again Comin’ from someone you look up to It’s no surprise And I’m losing my cool again They’re telling you lies They’re telling you lies

Sometimes you feel crazy Sometimes you feel low Sometimes you feel lazy Sometimes you don’t know But when life starts pushing you back and you don’t like the way things are Be still and relax Jack Take a look at the stars So just come in And have the day that should’ve been ‘Cause through our song We find it’s been there all along One day you were playin’ But not playin’ around ‘Cause you heard what they’re sayin’ They kept putting you down But when you start saying things back and you’re not getting very far Sometimes there’s an answer If you follow the stars So just come in And have the day that should’ve been ‘Cause through our song We find it’s been there all along All the things we’ve waited for And we don’t want to wait anymore All the chords we used to play That they don’t want to play anymore So just come in And have the day that should’ve been ‘Cause through our song We find it’s been there all along

Nothing seems to follow you And no one takes the lead All your dreams are now just a fantasy Someone’s standing next to you And you can’t seem to breathe Time to get yourself in a different scene But it’s never enough To get a bit of gratitude It’s never enough To get a better attitude Something’s really eating you And no one’s listening You can’t talk a fool into empathy Everything you try to do Has often gone unseen Trust and lust are often two different things But it’s never enough To get a bit of gratitude It’s never enough To get a better attitude

I can feel the passion you bring As your eyes are staring at me And with a little trust Someday, we could run away together We could leave or we could stay But I would rather face the day Waking up next to you I know you just want some truth And I will give you strength So baby come close to me. Other girls don’t compare They’re alright, but you’re right there You’ll always be in my heart I know it’s hard to talk about it We could talk and work it out Or close our eyes and go all out Seeing what it becomes There’s a level where we are one And I will give you strength So baby come close to me. We could leave or we could stay But I would rather face the day Waking up next to you I know you just want some truth And I will give you strength So baby come close to me.

Summertime in the sunshine is such a lonely place Every song that you sang got lost along the way Oh, but that was ok, for a while Call me soft, call me sunshine, and file me away Stories told about icons, who did you meet today And how much did you pay for a smile As you turn to the work you put in It’s just not a sweet memory No one’s fault but you just don’t fit in You can feel the energy Is it you or is it me? Summertime in the sunshine waving across the bay To the one’s who can see you, but just can’t hear you play Because they don’t have a taste for your style.

Rise 03:18
All the things we’re waiting for we cannot find If you don’t want any more leave it behind When the room is closing in open your eyes Taste the fear and smell the sin within their lies Cleanse your soul with love and watch it rise Everything you have to give you’ll get in kind And as patience settles in transcending time Find the mantra from within your deep blue mind Dwell into the mystery and cross the line Cleanse your soul with love and watch it rise Watch it rise Watch it rise

Runnin' Away 04:01
The bar is way too high For her to qualify He’s gonna have to try to be cool Or he’ll never get through Yeah, he’s gotta be cool Or he’ll never get through So let him roll the dice ‘til he’s lonely ‘Cause you can’t put a price on his needs She may look real nice But she’s only gonna make him wanna leave There just ain’t no time For her to waste her life She’s gonna have to try to be cool Or she’ll never get through Yeah, she’s gotta be cool Or she’ll never get through So let her roll the dice ‘til she’s lonely ‘Cause you can’t put a price on her needs He may look real nice But he’s only gonna make her wanna leave Run, runnin’ away From something that ain’t supposed to be Run, runnin’ away from a dream Run, runnin' away From something that ain’t supposed to be So let them roll the dice ‘til they’re lonely ‘Cause you can’t put a price on their needs They may look real nice But they’re only gonna make you wanna leave

How do you activate freedom? Wavin’ your guns in the street You come into town and shut the place down Acting like some kind of king Thought you knew everything A gun is a toy for a stupid cowboy To shoot at what doesn’t agree Someday it’s gonna be me. Why are so many believers? It’s just a show on TV He tips his big hat and I guess that is that ‘Cause then he shoots everybody It’s sure not what I want to be I know a few fools who think that it’s cool Without lookin’ past what they see Someday they’re gonna get me. Acting like some kind of king Thought you knew everything It’s up to you what a gun’s gonna do To shoot at what doesn’t agree Someday it’s gonna be me.

Every little celebration left along the way Gave a little satisfaction to get us through the day Morning light and late-night sunsets and everything between Finds a way to stay together if you know what I mean But every time we get together And try to talk it through Love will find a way From me to you At the end of the day (I’m still yours) At the end of the day (That’s for sure) ‘Cause when the morning comes4 We’re gonna get us some At the end of the day. In the park at dark together can be a special thing All alone in perfect weather we find some harmony Ocean liner, stars behind her, drifting through the haze Arriving at our destination, finding our own way But if the breeze just knocks you over No matter what you do Love can find its way From me to you At the end of the day (I’m still yours) At the end of the day (That’s for sure) ‘Cause when the morning comes4 We’re gonna get us some At the end of the day. We’ll make it last forever So selflessly We’ve got what everybody needs At the end of the day (I’m still yours) At the end of the day (That’s for sure) ‘Cause when the morning comes4 We’re gonna get us some At the end of the day.

Between Us 03:00
Was it really just that sort of charm? Or did you think that it might break your heart? We could have given it a brand-new start Between Us What were you looking for in my eyes? An edgy person or a handsome guy? Is this the truth or is it all a lie Between Us But it’s just so sad ‘Cause something’s gone inside of you If I ever brought it up again Would you only want to be my friend? Does this really have to be the end Between Us Between Us

about

With a new record, Blaine Campbell and the California Sound are back at it again with unforgettable songs that will take the listener to that Southern California poptopia where we learn the California Sound is more than just beaches and fun in the sun! While Blaine and the band have been reminiscing about their youth and the television shows they loved as kids, it became apparent that the TV show theme song is no longer what it once was. The leadoff track entitled, “The California Sound” serves as the theme song to the best show you’ve NEVER seen. What follows is a collection of songs that summarize the content of each episode. You’ve probably never seen the show, but you’re about to take a listen. So sit back, relax your ears, and take in a few episodes of “Blaine Campbell and the California Sound”!
